Stay healthy

Remote controls,Computers,Washing Machines,Vacum cleaners,Motor cycle and Car have made it possible for us to have almost everything, without much physical efforts .Day by day,physical activity is getting reduced and becoming insignificant to stay healthy.
Present day work environment demands that employees stay healthy and fit on the job.
Staying healthy is a part of our resource requirement.Therefore,it is worth the time,effort and money spent on staying healthy.
It is not possible for any one to be 100% healthy and that too all the time.But one can always attempt to stay healthy by taking some simple steps.

Here are a few tips:
   1. Climb steps. As far as possible avoid lift/escalator.
   2. Bring down couch time.
   3. Do your personal work yourself.
   4. Do some physical exercise, like walking, Yoga, Tai chi etc. Check with your
       Doctor /Physical fitness trainer for an exercise plan that suits your body condition.
   5. Cut down Junk foods.
   6. Avoid Snacks and drinks.
   7. Eat healthy, nutritious food. Eat in small quantity, increase the number of times intake.
   8. Cut down on Oil,Fat,sugar and salt.
   9. Avoid hot drinks.
  10.Quit smoking.
  11.Eat plenty of vegetables, greens, fibrous food.
  12 Have periodical medical check up and follow medical advice.
  13. Take time to relax. Spend.about 20 minutes a day relaxing.

Improving health,staying healthy requires dedication and non stop practice.
Make the most of it.Enjoy good health.
Be more productive and happy.

Stress in Children

Present day competitiveness drives children to higher levels of stress.

Before we move any further Let us look at what is stress?

The term stress is defined as a demand on Physical or mental energy.
Stress is  an inherent part and a fact of life .Stress cannot be avoided completely.
It is fight or flight response that keeps us active and alive. What is important is how we respond to it. Prolonged or excessive may over tap the resources of an individual and render one vulnerable to illness. Symptoms of stress include muscle tension, high blood pressure, psychological problems, digestive disorders, a weakened immune system, cancer, and heart disease.


Stress has to be managed by using proper coping mechanism together modification/adjustments..

Here are some tips to cope with stress.

Avoid :

   1. Driving children too much.
   2. Hyper parenting.
   3. Discussing  office/personal issues in front of children.
   4. Excessive watching of Television.
   5. Wasting precious time on SMS, Chats etc.,
   6. Ignoring home work.
   7. Responding lately to study requirements like revision, preparation for test/exam etc.
   8. Criticising  Children in front of strangers and in public.
   9. Driving children to be too perfect.

 Encourage children to:

   1. Have a realistic approach to study and life.
   2. Relax. One can practice Mudras, Breathing techniques, shavasan for relaxation.
   3. Cultivate a hobby.
   4. Teach them value of time.
   5. Have adequate sleep, Exercise, Eat a nutritious food.
   6. Avoid junk foods.
   7. Study well and smart.
   8. Read materials allied with studies.

In addition to above, Parents should also

   1. Provide a comfortable, disturbance free environment for study.
   2. Spend quality time with your children.Make it a point to do this at regular intervals.
   3. Read the report card carefully and look for clues. Check for areas requiring parental attention.
   4. Keep a watch on your child` s internet habits. Install child protection software.This will help protect against Cyber threats, which is becoming a serious issue affecting children.
